Evan A. Sorensen, MS LMFT, is the founder and director of the New England Institute for Marriage and Family Therapy in Bedford, NH. After earning his MS Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary School of Psychology in 1995, Evan held clinical and executive leadership positions with such organizations as Southern California Foster Family and Adoption Agency, The Salvation Army, and Easter Seals of NH. In 2002 he became a lead clinician with Pastoral Counseling Services in Manchester. Although still serving as a clinical consultant for PCS, in 2008 Evan founded the New England Institute for Marriage and Family Therapy, a group psychotherapy practice dedicated to improving the individual and interpersonal quality of life in marriage and family systems. In addition to providing traditional individual, family and couples counseling, Evan has developed a marital enrichment workshop/curriculum that he offers in a small group setting through NEIMFT, or through arrangement to larger church groups throughout the Southern NH region. Most recently Evan has developed a premarital / newlywed therapy curriculum designed to get soon-to-be or recently married couples started off on the right foot with research driven tools and techniques proven to increase marital satisfaction, harmony and intimacy. NEIMFT recently developed a partnership with several churches to exclusively provide the premarital curriculum as part of the couple’s traditional wedding preparation plans.

Currently Evan is an adjunct faculty professor for Springfield College – Graduate School of Health and Human Services in Manchester, NH and Providence College and Seminary – Graduate School of Counseling Psychology in Calgary, Canada
